TIDE, South Sudan

Tide stands for "Talent Initiative for Development" and promotes peace and development through working with youth. The organization was founded in 2019 by Samse Sam, a young activist and musician who works for his country under difficult conditions and who himself lost his parents in the civil war. He had already started with activities in the refugee camp in neighboring Uganda, where he found refuge himself. There he launched projects for peacebuilding with other musicians. During this time, the song "Kifaya"; was produced, which reached tens of thousands of people of different ethnic groups in South Sudan at concerts and via social media.

PO Head Samse Sam has been elected as one of five global grassroot changemaker by Civicus, the global alliance for civil society, and is part of their grassroot solidarity revolution.
