NYO, Rwanda

NUFASHWA YAFASHA ORGANIZATION (NYO) is a Kinyarwanda word and translates into ‘someone supported may still support others’.
NYO was founded in 2014 as a local grassroots organization aiming to improve living standards for underprivileged children and their families in Ngarama, Gatsibo district in Eastern Rwanda. In fact, children abandoned, poor, and hungry due to extreme poverty, natural disaster, or civil war are the most vulnerable citizens of the world.
For four years, the NUFASHWA YAFASHA ORGANIZATION has been working in NGARAMA VILLAGE/GATSIBO DISTRICT and its peripheries to give children from vulnerable backgrounds a safe place to develop their talents.

PO Head BUJYACYERA Jean Paul – also known as Gutermann (good man) –is now a well-educated journalist and popular Rwandan radio personality living in the capital city of Kigali and a master’s candidate in Development Studies from the Mount Kenya University/Rwanda. Motivated to give something back to his community and provide educational opportunities to the community of his native village Ngarama and across the country (Rwanda), he started a non-profit organization in 2014 with very small donations from friends and acquaintances.
