General situation Resa feels still stressed with the current land situation (see below), but is more positive than in July as there are many potential opportunities for funds (see below). Resa is very grateful for the support of her contacts around the world, among them SpendeDirekt. From time to time she is also in contact with Jean-Paul and Rudra. |
Corona support The food support is ongoing on Sundays. |
Current land Resa/BGBJ still owns the land, but the government still wants to buy it from her. Resa is still negotiating with the government to get as high compensation as possible. 97% of the other landowners have already agreed and signed a compensation deal with the government, but up to now Resa refused to sign. She was invited to a 4h meeting with the government together with her brother. Resa will pay an independent person to perform an estimation of the land value. As the situation is quite tense, she will also put the most important documents in a bank safe and for the moment does not leave BGBJ. A good compensation would be around 50‘000€. |
Future land Initially Resa was thinking about buying a land plot of 1000m2 (see last update). However, the owner of that land asks for too much money, so that plot is not an option anymore. She therefore looked for another plot and found a 1200m2 (4 times the size of the current BGBJ). The owner (Fredy Bunjamin) seems to be a nice and humble person. She could negotiate a price of 2’400’000’000 Rp (around 145’000 €). Resa is trying to even negotiate a better price. |
Current funds available In total, BGBJ has about 240’000’000 Rp (14’500 €) available. 7’305 CHF is from SpendeDirekt, the rest from 2 GoFundMe campaigns. |
GoFundMe campaign The current status of the campaign is 5’310€ (08.10.2021), but it is not yet finished. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-to-rescue-the-kingdom-of-bgbj |
Interview with the guardian On 05.10.2021 Resa was interviewed with “The Guardian” and asked them to post the GoFundMe Link in the article. Resa has to be careful to not publicly blame the government as she could risk repercussions. |
Interview with NHK Resa was interviewed by the Japanese National TV station Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai (NHK) and is interviewed again by them and asks them to post the GoFundMe Link in the article. Also here, Resa has to be careful to not blame the government as she could risk repercussions. |
Campaign with Influencer Rachel Vennya Her mother came to the Ramadan dinner of BGBJ. She has 6.8 million followers on Instagram. Resa is planning to contact her management team for a collaboration with Rachel on a fundraising campaign for BGBJ rescue. |
Sampah movie The new Sampah movie was produced by a German filmteam and will be released by the end of October. Watch the teaser here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4_Oqvj_igI&t=41s |
Meeting with a son of a billionaire He is a humble person and he came to BGBJ and is tired of hanging out with the rich kids. Resa is keeping contact with him and is trying to convince him or his network to create a fundraising event at Taman Menteng for BGBJ. |
For-Profit Plastic upcycling company (ARBIE) Resa presented her idea of a for-profit Plastic Upcycling company to the Team leader and CE plastics specialist of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and said it would cost about 100’000-500’000 USD. The manager was very positive and is inquiring if the funds can be made available. Resa is also in contact with Chris Soebroto a Dutch consultant and adviser for renewable energy and plastic recycling. Resa already registered a company for plastic upcycling, but it is not active. He asked her to fill in a business plan. -https://www.linkedin.com/in/chris-soebroto-6359251/ · ARBIE’s Vision is of Bantar Gebang communities enjoying equality, health and prosperity through a livable income. · ARBIE’s Mission is, through its net profits, to generate reliable financial resources for BGBJ to uplift the Bantar Gebang communities. |
SpendeDirekt Project Proposal In this uncertain situation, it is difficult for Resa to come up with a concrete project proposal for the SpendeDirect website. Resa could name a project for example “1/10 of the new land plot”. Other ideas from your side are welcome. |
