Even now it is difficult to find a soccer ball because a modern soccer ball costs 60 USD, and we lack the equipment to use it, the standard field size. Now at our center, we have 80 children. From 7 to 18 years old.
Football (or sport) as a human right
Access to football, like any other sport, is a universal human right. This is recognized by the United Nations and couall over the world who have signed commitments pledging to ensure that all people, regardless of background or ability, are able to access sport. However, this right is often referred to as “the forgotten right” and together we can ensure that it is alive and kicking
Additional benefits of football
Football can produce a range of other benefits, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Bringing different groups of people together and bridging divides (social cohesion)
- Providing employment and contributing to the economy
- Promoting youth development – empowering young people to develop skills and capabilities
- Providing opportunities for girls and women and challenging gender stereotypes
- Health and well-being (healthy behavior): includes physical activity, mental health promotion, healthy decision-making, risk assessment, nutrition, good hygiene, and personal safety.

In my community (Rwanda), football is a popular sport. This game does not require the ability to pla...Mehr leseny it with modern balls or modern stadiums, played in harvested fields, on the streets ... Many children grow up in that life. Their football talents are wasted, due to a lack of basic equipment such as playing balls, clothes, shoes, coaches and having a good vision.

It is in this context that in 2018 NYO we set up a boys' soccer team, which is the largest number of boys playing in Rwanda. Soon we want to set up a girls team. We now have about 80 children assisting in the program.
In our community there is no child playing on the street. It is a program we have set up for children to play after the school program. This also helps them learn better, not loneliness and enhance their talent.
