NYO, Rwanda

About the organisation

NUFASHWA YAFASHA ORGANIZATION (NYO) is a Kinyarwanda word and translates into ‘someone supported may still support others’.
NYO was founded in 2014 as a local grassroots organization aiming to improve living standards for underprivileged children and their families in Ngarama, Gatsibo district in Eastern Rwanda. In fact, children abandoned, poor, and hungry due to extreme poverty, natural disaster, or civil war are the most vulnerable citizens of the world.
For four years, the NUFASHWA YAFASHA ORGANIZATION has been working in NGARAMA VILLAGE/GATSIBO DISTRICT and its peripheries to give children from vulnerable backgrounds a safe place to develop their talents.

We will be thrilled to have your support. Through your donation, we will be able to accomplish our goals and continue working towards our purpose. You will truly make the difference for us, and we will be extremely grateful! Each month, your donation will go to a different high impact project selected. You will get regular updates on which projects you are supporting and the impact that your donation is having. We will use your donation responsibly and ensure the best use for the beneficiaries.
Follow up reports should always be shared with the SpendeDirekt on time to see whether donations are well utilized, make an impact and where need be scaled up to the benefit of a wider community.
We will digitize all evidence of our spending and make it available through the SpendeDirekt platform. This will allow you to control the impact of your donation trough reports periodically.

The people behind it

NYO
BUJYACYERA Jean Paul – also known as Gutermann (good man) –is now a well-educated journalist and popular Rwandan radio personality living in the capital city of Kigali and a master’s candidate in Development Studies from the Mount Kenya University/Rwanda. Motivated to give something back to his community and provide educational opportunities to the community of his native village Ngarama and across the country (Rwanda), he started a non-profit organization in 2014 with very small donations from friends and acquaintances. His efforts have been fruitful with the help of his mother, brother, sister, and friends, who still reside in the village of Ngarama and volunteer along with many other community members for Nufashwa Yafasha Organization.

It is there for vital to maintain food assistance programs. We would like to provide families with food that can't afford it now. Rwanda confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 13th. The Ministry of Health is asking all residents of Rwanda to continue observing all instructions from health authorities, particularly by washing hands regularly, maintaining physical distance from people (at least 1 meter), staying inside your home, and reporting any symptoms by calling the toll-free. Total cases 259, total deaths 0, and total recovery 124. Immediately March 21st Rwanda Govt. implemented social distancing through Lockdown countrywide which will be continued up to May-4.
